The tradition lives on! Our annual pilgimage to some of the most breathtaking scenery on the planet happend this week. We spent a few days hiking in arches. We hiked to double arch, windows, delicate arch, landscape arch and wall arch. The kids have become quite the hikers. I know their legs are much stronger than mine! My knees and ankles reminded me how old I am and how much younger I used to be. The creeks and groans aside, I realize more and more each year how beautiful this park is. Our family has hiked many of the trails and seen most of the park. Each time my breath is taken as I see these wonderful formations.
We love spending time with our family on these adventures. We have a ton of fun and we can't help but have a laugh or two!
This year we had a special treat and enjoyed having our wonderful neighbors- the Whetsels- join us! They have awesome children who are great hikers and love the outdoors. It was a lot of fun to hike, chat and appreciate the outdoors with such a great family!
I now know that if I ever become cornered by 3 mountain lions that Scott can handle them - no problem!! Thank you for the memories Whetsel family!!
Here are a few pictures from the trip you may find enjoyable.
Our next adventure is in Las Vegas at Thanksgiving attending the National Junior Football Legaue Torunament- JT's football team is practicing under the lights at the high school preparing for the games. He is also playing on a comp league basketball team.
JT recently turned 14 and was ordained a teacher. It is enjoyable to watch him progress in life, gain confidence and succeed in opportunities he faces. It is also noteworthy that his age matches his shoe size!!
Becca is in the middle of volleyball season. She has been working on her overhand serve and has done very well! Her team is fun to watch- they have learned that working together is a key to winning. They bump, set and spike!!
Rachel continues to provide us humor and reminds us that silliness is a special gift. We love her jokes, pranks and hugs. We are always on the look out for little notes she writes and reminders she posts on our doors! She is also becoming quite the pianist. She is practicing her Christmas pieces and I can't wait for the snow to fall, a fire to be built and her playing Christmas songs during the holidays! Feel free to stop in for some Chocolate and music!!
